Galaxy Collective Investment Schemes

Collective investment scheme (“CIS”) is investment vehicles pools investors’ funds to create a larger, well-diversified portfolio such that the investors share in the profits or income from the purchase, holding, management or disposal of the portfolio. Our CISs includes investment in a equity, balanced funds.

Types of CISs

  • Equity fund: This fund invests money in stocks and shares with the objective to provide long-term capital growth.
  • Balanced fund: The balanced fund buys a combination of stocks, and bonds, to provide both income and capital appreciation while avoiding excessive risk. It combines both the growth and income objectives.
  • Money market fund: This fund invests only in money markets instruments such as short term (one day to one year) debt obligations such as Treasury bills, certificates of deposit, and commercial paper with the objective to preserve principal, accompanied by modest dividends.
  • Fixed income fund: This product invests in bonds, preferred stock, and treasury bills that generate a specified amount of income over a certain period.
  • Sector fund: This fund invests in securities of a given sector of industry of the economy or specific.
  • Index fund: This fund invests in securities of a given sector of industry of the economy or specific.


  • A Valid ID Card
  • Two passport size photos.
  • A completed Galaxy Money Market Fund Application Form.( Download forms from our website or pick one from our offices).
  • A minimum of GH¢10. You will become in our CIS.
  • Additional deposits could be added to the investments periodically.

What are the payment methods?

  • Standing order to your bank for your monthly contributions.
  • Mobile money transfers.
  • You could also issue Post-dated cheques.
  • Cash and cheque payments are made into the fund at our office.

What returns do I make as a shareholder?

  • Price appreciation (the upward movement of share price e.g. If you buy a share at GH¢1 and the price moves to GH¢2, there’s price appreciation which is GH¢2).
  • NB: you have to stay in the fund for at least a minimum to enjoy the full benefits and objectives

How do I get out of the fund or take part of my money?

  • Complete a withdrawal form and submit to Galaxy office.
  • A minimum of GH¢50 is to be left in the account at the time of withdrawals.
  • Payment is made by cheque within 24 hours.
  • Open cheques require valid photo ID cards.
